After the end-of-year holiday period, bank branches across the country will reopen this Friday (2) for in-person service to the public, with normal hours for carrying out banking operations.
In a statement, the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) reinforces that utility bills, such as water, electricity, and telephone, due on days when there was no bank clearing (December 31st and January 1st) can be paid, without surcharge, this Friday.
In the case of taxes and duties that were due on a holiday or on days when there was no bank clearing, the recommendation is to pay them in advance to avoid interest and penalties.
