Tempo segue instável de norte a sul do Brasil

Text edited by Meteorologist Jade Ramos.

Heat intensifies in Brazil and rain showers spread as summer approaches.

With the approach of summer, the atmospheric pattern in Brazil changes again: the heat intensifies, humidity increases, and rain showers return to spread across various regions of the country. The coming days will be marked by high temperatures, a muggy feeling, and periods of moderate to heavy rain.

Low-pressure areas, the passage of cold fronts, the natural increase in seasonal heat, and greater moisture availability should favor episodes of intense downpours, strong winds, and lightning in several states of the country.

South and Southeast: heat, mugginess, and rain at various times.

Southern and Southeastern Brazil are entering a period marked by increased moisture circulation and strong daytime heating. This combination favors the growth of heavier clouds, which can cause more intense rainfall at times, possibly accompanied by gusts of wind, especially along the coast.

The downpours can also be heavy in a short period of time, followed by lightning and hail.

Central-West: typical storms of the return season

In the Midwest, the hot and humid weather favors heavy rain showers, a typical pattern for this time of year. These occurrences tend to be quick but intense, and may be accompanied by thunderstorms and gusts of wind.

The feeling of heat and mugginess is expected to remain high over the next few days.

The north continues to experience frequent showers.

The Northern Region is naturally influenced by heat due to its location closer to the equator and the high humidity coming from the ocean and the various rivers that cross the Amazon Rainforest. This condition maintains a pattern of recurring rain showers. These rains can sometimes be irregular, but frequent, and accompanied by thunderstorms. The feeling of heat and mugginess remains high throughout the region.

Northeast: interior with extreme heat and coast with rain.

In the interior of the Northeast region, intense heat and low relative humidity will predominate. In some areas, temperatures may exceed 35°C and humidity will drop to below 30%, increasing thermal discomfort and the risk of wildfires.

Along the coast and in the northern region, the presence of moisture coming from the ocean maintains the forecast for rain, with increased cloud cover and temperatures close to 30°C.

Transition to summer keeps weather variable in Brazil

Even with the last extratropical cyclone moving away, the country remains in a period marked by strong atmospheric variability during the transition between spring and summer. Therefore, unstable weather and conditions favorable for storms, lightning, and wind gusts may persist in the coming days.
