The final phase of the third edition of the Women’s Copinha begins this Friday (12). At 3 pm (Brasília time), São Paulo and Grêmio will face off at Canindé in the quarter-finals of the under-20 tournament, which is being played in the capital of São Paulo.
The other games will be on Saturday (13). At 10 am, Flamengo will face Ferroviária at the Centro Esportivo, Recreativo e Educativo do Trabalhador (Ceret). Fluminense, the current champion, will take to the field at 11 am, at Ibrachina Arena, against Santos, whom they already faced in the group stage. Finally, at 6 pm, again at Ceret, Internacional and Corinthians will decide the last place in the semi-finals.

The matchups were determined based on the teams’ overall records. The best-performing team faces the “worst” record among the qualified teams, the second-best performing team plays the seventh-best, and so on.
The first phase came to an end on Wednesday (10). First champion of the Women’s Copinha, Flamengo secured the top spot in Group A – Pau Brasil, played at Ceret, by thrashing Criciúma 7-1. The same score as Corinthians’ victory over Aliança-GO. Rubro-Negro and Timão both had seven points, but the Rio team finished in the lead due to goal difference. The São Paulo team advanced as one of the best second-placed teams.
In Group E – Embaúba, based at Ibrachina Arena, Fluminense and Santos drew 0-0. Both teams reached seven points, with Fluminense ahead on goal difference. Santos secured their place as one of the best second-placed teams. In the other match of this group, Sport beat Vila Nova 4-0.
On Tuesday (9), Inter and Ferroviária secured their places in the quarterfinals by finishing Group B – Jequitibá Rosa, held at the Nicolau Alayon Stadium, in first and second place, respectively. The Gurias Coloradas finished in the lead on goal difference thanks to an 8-0 victory over Minas Brasília. The Guerreirinhas Grenás also won by a large margin: 4-0 over Centro Olímpico.
On the same day, Grêmio secured the top spot in Group D – Araucária, based at Ceret, by beating União Desportiva Alagoana (UDA) 2-0. The Mosqueteiras finished the group with seven points, one more than Botafogo, who also won 2-0 against Palmeiras. However, the Gloriosas’ points total was not enough to guarantee them a place in the final phase.
Also on Tuesday, São Paulo secured the best record in the first phase by beating Red Bull Bragantino 1-0 and finishing Group C – Ipê Amarelo, at Canindé, with nine points and a 100% winning record. Second place in the group went to América-MG, who beat Remo 4-0. With four points, the Spartanas were eliminated from the competition.
