The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, and the governor of the state, Cláudio Castro, announced on the social network X that the state and the capital of Rio de Janeiro will have an optional day off on Wednesday (17) from noon onwards due to the games involving Flamengo and Vasco.
After defeating Pyramids of Egypt 2-0 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Flamengo secured a place in the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, held in Qatar . The final will be against Paris Saint-Germain of France, who qualified directly. The match between the winners of the Copa Libertadores and the UEFA Champions League is scheduled for Wednesday, again in Al Rayyan, at 2 PM (Brasilia time).

Vasco will face Corinthians in the 2025 Copa do Brasil on Wednesday and Sunday (21). The first match is scheduled for Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), while the game that closes the Brazilian men’s football season in 2025 will be at Maracanã, at 6:30 pm.
