Praia Clube and Osasco are two games away from the title of the Women’s Volleyball Club World Championship, at the Pacaembu Gymnasium, in São Paulo. This Saturday (13) the Brazilian teams will play the semifinals against two Italian powerhouses. Current South American champion, the team from Uberlândia (MG) will take to the court at 1 pm (Brasília time) against Scandicci. The São Paulo club, champion of the Superliga, will face Conegliano at 4:30 pm, where the outside hitter of the national team Gabi Guimarães plays. The games will be broadcast live on VBTV, streaming of the International Volleyball Federation.
With the support of their fans, Osasco will seek a spot in the final against three-time champion Conegliano (2019, 2022, and 2024), who are emerging as the best team currently. This season, Gabi Guimarães’ team has won four titles: Champions League, Italian Championship, Italian Cup, and Super Cup. Praia Clube’s mission against Scandicci will also not be easy. The European club has a star-studded roster, including Ekaterina Antropova (opposite hitter for the Italian national team, world champion), Maja Ognjenovci (setter for Serbia, two-time world champion), and Brenda Castillo, considered one of the world’s leading liberos.

Osasco qualified for the semifinals in second place in Group A, behind Scandicci, to whom they lost 3-0 in the second round of the first phase. The São Paulo club began its campaign with a 3-0 victory over Alianza Lima (Peru) and defeated Zhetysu (Kazakhstan) 3-2 in the third and final game of the initial phase. The São Paulo club dreams of a second World Championship title – the first title was obtained in 2012, with a victory in the final against Rabita Baku (Azerbaijan) in Qatar.
Praia Clube dreams of an unprecedented title in the competition. For the third year in a row, the Minas Gerais team has secured a place in the semifinals. The team qualified in second place in Group B, which was led by Conegliano. In their debut, Praia beat Zamalek (Egypt) 3-0, the same score as their victory over Orlando Valkyries (United States) in the second round. In the final match of the first phase, the Brazilian team was defeated by Conegliano 3-0
