Maior shopping center da região, Plaza Campos Gerais é inaugurado

With an investment of R$ 350 million, Grupo Tacla begins operations on its 12th project, which will feature unique architectural and landscaping elements, and a food court with a privileged view of the sunset.

The Tacla Group, the largest shopping center conglomerate in Southern Brazil, opened its 12th mall this Thursday, the 11th. With 76,000 square meters and 27,000 square meters of leasable area, Plaza Campos Gerais, located in the Ronda region of Ponta Grossa (PR), has two commercial floors and two parking levels. The opening, which will feature 140 businesses, including shops and kiosks, is expected to boost the local economy and strengthen retail, expanding service and leisure options in one of the most promising regions of the country.

With an investment of R$ 350 million, the space was designed to be a landmark in architecture and regional development, bringing together important anchor stores such as Renner, C&A, Riachuelo, Studio Z, and Muffato Gourmet. The mix also includes dozens of national and international brands, such as Freddo, Johnny Rockets, Lindt, Crocs, Super Legal Brinquedos, Daiso, and Constance. One of the highlights is Cine Laser Cinemas, with six multiplex screens and a high-standard experience for the public.

Second shopping mall

This is the Tacla Group’s second venture in the city – the first was the Palladium Ponta Grossa Shopping Mall, inaugurated in 2003. With 368,000 inhabitants, the municipality ranks fourth in wealth generation in Paraná, with great industrial and commercial potential, as well as being an important road junction in Paraná. These were decisive factors for the installation of new companies and for the increase in the number of residents in the region, in addition to accelerating the project to open a new, larger and more diversified mall.

Located in a rapidly expanding area, near the City Hall and the main access to the city, Plaza Campos Gerais was designed to attract visitors and customers from Ponta Grossa and neighboring cities. According to the Group’s entrepreneur, Aníbal Tacla, these decades of operation in the city have allowed them to witness the strengthening of the local economy, driven mainly by the expansion of agribusiness. “We conducted feasibility studies that demonstrated the latent demand for a second development in the city. This finding coincided with requests we received from large retail chains interested in being in this market, or wishing to increase their presence. We strongly believe in the potential of Campos Gerais and are certain that this new shopping center will be a great success,” he states.

Design and sustainability — a project inspired by the Devonian Escarpment

The sandstone formations of the Devonian Escarpment inspired the architectural design of the shopping mall. Contemporary elements, present in the most modern projects, were incorporated – with emphasis on the extensive use of natural light, noticeable on all floors. Large skylights installed in the roof of the L2 floor and side windows ensure sustainability principles, such as reduced energy consumption and visual integration with the exterior.

The connection with nature is also present in the corridors, which feature 18 fixed gardens and suspended planters in the circulation areas, creating an atmosphere of well-being for visitors. These spaces integrate native plants, such as jaboticaba trees, ferns, and palm trees, with ornamental species. In the exterior garden, the landscaping softens the transition between the city and the interior of the shopping mall. Saplings of yellow, white, and pink ipê trees surround the building and, with each flowering, will reinforce the beauty of the Atlantic Forest’s hues.

Food court perfect for watching the sunset.

Facing west, Plaza Campos Gerais will also be a space for contemplation. The food court on the L2 floor is located at the highest point of the building, with a privileged view of the city’s sunset. This area also features an outdoor terrace and a multi-purpose, tree-lined area with native plants, creating an environment conducive to outdoor connection on sunny days.
