Interior do Nordeste segue quente e seco, com baixa umidade e calor intenso nos próximos dias

The interior of Northeast Brazil remains hot and dry.

The next few days will continue to be marked by stable weather, intense heat, and low humidity across much of the interior of Northeast Brazil. The region remains under the influence of a hot, dry air mass, which maintains strong sunshine and prevents the formation of rain clouds. This pattern is expected to continue throughout the weekend.

Heat waves persist and humidity remains critically low in several states.

Temperatures remain high in the interior and semi-arid regions, with highs easily exceeding 35°C during the afternoon. The presence of very dry air contributes to thermal discomfort, also caused by muggy nights and early mornings.

With the dry air persisting, relative humidity levels plummet to critically low values, especially during the hottest hours. In states like Pernambuco, Ceará, Paraíba, and Rio Grande do Norte, humidity levels frequently drop below 30%, and in more remote areas, levels can fall to 20% or even lower, indicating an alarming situation.

When is the rain expected to return?

Despite the prevailing dry weather pattern, some coastal areas of the Northeast may still receive light and irregular rainfall due to moisture blowing in from the ocean. However, inland, no significant changes are expected in the short term.

The expectation is that instability will begin to gradually increase in the second half of the month, when atmospheric systems typical of the rainy season regain strength over the region.
