In another day of recovery in the financial market, the stock exchange rose almost 1% and surpassed 160,000 points again. The dollar had a slight increase, but fell in the accumulated week.
The Ibovespa index, from B3, closed this Friday (12) at 160,766 points, with an advance of 0.99%. Despite operating near stability in the early afternoon, the indicator reacted in the final hours of trading and flirted with 161,000 points.

After falling 4.31% last Friday (5), the Brazilian stock market reversed the fall and rose 2.16% for the week.
The foreign exchange market had a less optimistic day. The commercial dollar closed this Friday at R$ 5.411, up R$ 0.006 (+0.11%). The exchange rate fell during the morning, reaching R$ 5.38 around 10:20 am, but reversed course during the afternoon, amid instability in the external market.
Despite reaching R$ 5.46 on Wednesday (10), the US currency reversed its performance and closed the week with a drop of 0.39%. The currency is up 1.42% in December, but is down 12.44% in 2025.
Domestically, the market calmed down after Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) announced his pre-candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic at the end of last week. Furthermore, the suspension of the application of the Magnitsky Act against Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes and his wife rekindled tensions with the normalization of relations between Brazil and the United States.
Internationally, however, fears of a bubble bursting in the stock market of artificial intelligence companies resurfaced, pushing down US stock markets. This put pressure on the dollar worldwide, especially against the currencies of emerging countries like Brazil.
