The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) approved, this Thursday (11), the notice for the assisted sale of Rio de Janeiro/Galeão International Airport. The document, which contains the rules for the renegotiation of the concession contract for the largest airport terminal in Rio, should be published in the Official Gazette of the Union next Monday (15). 
One of the key aspects of the assisted sale is the implementation of a simplified competitive process, with a minimum bid of R$ 932 million. The auction is scheduled for March 30, 2026, at the B3 auditorium in São Paulo.

The solution, validated by the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), incorporates regulatory improvements and aims to ensure the sustainability of the concession until its end date, the operational continuity of services, and the preservation of investments already made.
The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, highlighted the growth in passenger numbers at the airport.
“In just under two years, we went from 4.8 million passengers in 2023, and this year we will exceed 18 million.”
Also planned is the collection of a variable contribution of 20% of the concessionaire’s gross revenue until 2039 and the establishment of the exit of the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero) from the administration of the airport by March 2026.
