Beneficiaries registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) with a Social Registration Number (NIS) ending in 2 will receive the December Gas Assistance in the amount of R$ 110 this Thursday (11).

Scheduled to last until the end of 2026, the program benefits 4.4 million families this month. With the approval of the Constitutional Amendment for Transition at the end of 2022, the benefit was maintained at 100% of the average price of a 13 kg gas cylinder.

The benefit is paid every two months and follows the Bolsa Família schedule, with payments until December 23rd for beneficiaries with a NIS ending in 0.
Only those registered in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs) and with at least one family member receiving the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC) are eligible for the Gas Assistance program.
The law that created the program stipulated that women who are heads of households will have priority, as will women who are victims of domestic violence.
People’s gas
In September, the federal government launched the People’s Gas program , which will gradually replace the Gas Assistance program.
Instead of receiving a cash benefit, families will pick up their gas cylinder refills at authorized retailers.
The new program aims to triple the number of beneficiaries, reaching approximately 15 million families. At the end of November, the “People’s Gas” program began distribution to 1 million families in the following capital cities: Belém, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Goiânia, Natal, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, São Paulo, and Teresina.
